Disregard Fake Cuba Medical Scholarship Message-Scholarship Secretariat


The Scholarship Secretariat has denied a message circulating on social media that the secretariat is giving scholarship to students to “be trained as medical doctors in Cuba.”

In the said statement that has gone viral on various social media, it read that  “the Administrator of Ghana’s Scholarship Secretariat wants holders of WASSCE/SSCE certificates in Science with aggregate 15/below and not more than age 25 to submit their certificates for consideration for an ongoing scholarship package to be trained as a medical doctor in Cuba. They are also required to add a page CV with their address and contact details and submit everything to scholsec.gov.gh@gmail.com as early as possible.”

In a response signed by the CEO of the secretariat, Mr. Kingsley Agyemang, he stated that “our attention has been drawn to a widely circulated message on social media from an unknown source on an ongoing scholarship package to be trained as medical doctors in Cuba.  We wish to inform the general public that, the message is fake and does not emanate from the Ghana Scholarships Secretariat, neither has the Secretariat contracted any third party in our scholarship administration process.”

The statement further stated that  “the Scholarships Secretariat communicates information on available scholarship opportunities through the following media;
i. Ghanaian Times Newspaper ii. www.scholarships.gov.gh.”

“Please note the official email address of the Scholarships Secretariat as info@scholarships.gov.gh The general public is hereby advised to disregard the message in its entirety.” The statement said.
