Parents Advised to Keep Keen Eyes on Teenage Daughters

Philanthropist and  Chief Exectuive Officer of Leyla Images, Mr Emmanuel Kwesi Tetteh, has advised parents to be extra vigilant on their daughters especially during the time where they write their Basic Education Certificate Examination(BECE) to prevent unwanted teenage pregnancies.

According to Mr. Tetteh, some pupils hide behind the excuse of going to learn with their colleagues to engage in immoral acts during such period.
He said that he has witnessed a lot of situations where some female students who take the BECE are seen pregnant, a situation he described as unfortunate.

Mr. Tetteh made the appeal when distributed mathematical sets to students of Anyomoni DA Junior High School ( JHS) in the Lower Manya Krobo District with his team.

The project, dubbed “Lela Images One student One Mathematical set” is an annual project which ensures that every student in the rural area owns a mathematical set to aid in teaching and learning.

The Philanthropist beseeched parents to monitor their children and help to prepare them well for the BECE.

“The student should be monitored during the BECE  period because most of them use that as an excuse and end up doing things that are not part of studies.” He said.

He also called on churches and  opinion leaders  to take up the responsibility of children in their communities and guide them to become good citizens.
Speaking on the current kidnappings in the country, Mr Tetteh expressed concerns about children who would go out to learn with their colleagues due to the BECE and advised them to be extra careful.
He called on every Ghanaian to play the vigilantism role for the safety of children and the good of the country.
Recipients of the Math Set expressed their appreciation to Lela Images for the kind gesture.
