Military And Police To Be Engaged In Clean Up Exercise

The Member of Parliament for the Akyem Oda Constituency, Mr. William Agyapong Quaittoo has promised to engage the services of the police and the military in the cleaning up of the Akyem Oda Constituency.
 The Morning Show team of Okyeman FM, an Akyem Oda based radio station has been leading an advocacy for the cleaning up of the Birim Central Municipality.
The team, which is being led by Mr. Emmanuel Nii Martey, known in radio as Alaska, engages the services of authorities in Akim Oda for the exercise.
The Member of Parliament for the constituency, Mr. William Agyapong Quaittoo, who joined the exercise over the weekend, bemoaned the low patronage by citizens of the various communities.
Speaking to the media, he promised to get the police and the military involved in the next exercise.
He called on individuals in the Municipality, to join hands to keep it clean adding that this is the way to keep the municipality free from sanitation related outbreaks.
On his part, the Kontihene of Akyem Kotoku Traditional Area, Obrempong Gyamfi Saforo Kyere II, who also joined the cleanup exercise cautioned people living in the municipality to desist from indiscriminately throwing rubbish around in the Municipality.
He appealed to the Municipal Assembly to enforce the Assembly by laws on sanitation in order to ensure that the communities within the municipality are clean.

The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for the Birim Central Municipal Assembly, Mr. Alex Kwabena Bempong also reiterated the promise made by the MP to engage the police and the military in the next exercise.
