The District Chief Executive of the Upper Manya Krobo District in the Eastern Region of Ghana, Mr. Felix Nartey Odjao, has extoled achievement of the Member of Parliament for the Constituency, Mr. Joseph tetteh, describing him as a saviour of the District.
According to the DCE, the overwhelming response from the chiefs and people of the District suggest that the “District would have been like Dubai by now if Mr. Tetteh had been given the opportunity a bit earlier.”
Speaking at a gathering organised by the MP to interact with a section of the media in the Eastern Region and the Regional Communication team of the ruling New Patriotic Party, Mr. Odjao said he gets calls daily from people in the district who have been touched directly by the actions of the MP.
The Upper Manya Krobo Constituency Legislator resigned as the Deputy Eastern Regional Minister in August 2018. According to the MP, he resigned to concentrate on his parliamentary duties and give much attention to his constituency.
Speaking on the resignation, Mr. Odjao stated that “when Joe Tee said he was going to resign as the deputy regional minister, I disagreed completely with him. I even disagreed more on his basis for resignation. But as it stands now, I think he took the best decision. The constituents are having a good feel of that decision now.” He said.
First time NPP MP
Mr. Joseph Tetteh is the first NPP MP to win a seat in the Krobo enclave. The MP won the seat with 13,920 representing 56.34% beating the NDC’s JEFF KAVIANU who polled 10,544votes representing 42.67%.
Meanwhile, information gathered by the Evening News suggest that attempt are being made by some regional executives and the delegates of the NPP in the constituency to present Joe Tee as the sole candidate for the party’s Parliamentary Primaries which is due sometime this year. This according to reports is because there is a wide held believe that a attempt to change joe Tee can spell doom for the ruling party.
