The Eastern Regional Deputy Women Organiser of the opposition National Democratic Congress, Ms. Tina Effah-Boadi has called on big wigs within the party to consider lobbying for scholarship and other capacity building opportunities for youth within the party rather than big appointment whenever the party is in power.
Ms. Effah Boadi who was speaking to the Evening Mail in an exclusive interview said the gap between the big men and the youth in the NDC keep widening. This according to her is because the party’s big wigs prefer to lobby for big appointments for themselves whenever the party is in power instead of looking for opportunities that build the capacity of the youth in the party.
“When you look at the NDC, we have clever youth. Yet our youth keep getting poorer because there are no people to help them. Meanwhile some of them have completed JHS, others have completed SHS and have better grades that can qualify them to various tertiary institutions. The only problem is the support.” She told the Evening Mail.
She has therefore called the big wigs in the party to look for the interest of the youth in the party first before considering lobbying for positions for themselves when the party wins power again.
