Dorcas Asomaning, a 22year-old final year Nursing trainee of the Nursing and Midwifery Training College, Sekondi has been adjudged as the winner of the maiden edition of the Miss Western Beauty pageant.
The first edition of the Miss Western Beauty Pageant began about 15 weeks ago with some 14 ladies. The beautiful maidens were representatives from some towns in the Western and the newly created Western North Regions of Ghana.
In the course of the 15 months period, 10 of the 14 ladies were evicted leaving four who made it to the finals.
Final day event
The four finalists put up splendid Performances at the night with each showing her talent to impress the judges and the crowd.
The night also saw some great Performances from Fiifi Lattex, Afriqa, Cross Assanua and some other artistes in the region.
Winner
The event which was organised by Exone entertainmen saw Ms. Dorcas Asomaning from Sekondi Takoradi winning the ultimate.
About the Winner
Dorcas Abena Asomaning is a 22years final year student at the Nursing and Midwifery Training College, Sekondi.
Born to Rev. Charles Asomaning and Mrs Charity Asomaning, she completed both her Junior High School and Senior High School in Takoradi, specifically Queen of Peace Academy and Ahantaman Girls’ Senior High School.
According to Ms. Asomaning, her hobbies are Drawing, designing and beads making. “I like creating new stuff on my own and like to try out new ideas.” She told https://eveningmailgh.com.
Pageants has always been a passion for Ms. Asomaning. Her first experience was in Senior high school where she participated in the Miss AGHISS(Ahantaman Girls’ Senior High School) and had the 3rd position in 2013.
Her dream didn’t end there as she later joined a modeling agency in Takoradi (Model Code). “I had to later back out in 2014 since I was now in final year preparing for WAEC exams.” She said.
In 2015, she had admission to the Nursing and Midwifery training College. As Part of the school’s activities, a pageant popularly known as Face of Health was organized for the first years which she contested and was crowned second runner-up.

Other winners for the night were Berlinda Dzigbordi Sewor, first runner up and Efua Rhule From Bogoso as 2nd runner up.

Prizes
The winners were awarded some cash prizes and souvinirs from the sponsors. On her part, Ms. Asomaning aside the cash prize will also have a free training center for her community to reduce unemployment rate in the Region and her community.
