As part of the developmental agenda for Effutu Constituency, the honorable Alexander Afenyo-Markin, MP for Effutu Constituency is building a community centre in each of the following communities which include Sakagyano, Nsuakyiree, Ansaful Winneba Zongo and Ekroful in the Effutu Constituency.
This is in fulfilment of a promise he made in 2018, when he said among other things that he will build community centres in each of these communities to serve the social needs of the people.
On the 30th of January, 2019, he cut the sod for the commencement of the construction of the Winneba Zongo community centre which kick started the construction of similar centres in four(4) additional communities in the constituency. When the various construction sites were visited quite recently, work were seen to be progressing steadily.
The residents expressed their joy and recounted some of the benefits they are going to derive from such centres. According to some of the residents, the community centres are going to provide them with meeting places for the members of the communities to meet regularly to discuss the developmental issues of their communities.
In addition, they said the community centres will provide places for having funerals for their departed ones as well as providing them with space to hold programmes such as wedding ceremonies as well as community games that will help foster unity as well as togetherness to attain the common goals of all community members.
The MP in addition is ensuring that the road networks in some of these communities are being constructed.
He has successfully secured approval from government for the construction of several roads which includes Gyatekrom to Atteitu, Sankor junction to Essuekyer, Fetteh Wonsom area road , Eyigyaa Lodge, Vertenary and Kojo beedu road etc.
It is of importance to note that, the all almighty Sakagyano road has also seen construction.
Over One Thousand (1,000) students desk has also been supplied to the various schools in the municipality. Every teacher in the constituency has also been provided with one laptop to enhance teaching and learning.
Various communities in the constituency have also seen the construction of libraries as well as markets and toilet facilities.
These are all conscious efforts by the Honorable Member of Parliament to ensure that various developmental needs of the Effutu Constituency are met.
