NPP Women’s Wing to Hold First Ever Political Women’s Conference in Ghana

Information available to indicates that the National Women’s wing of the NPP is preparing to conduct a National  Women’s Conference and Rally for its Regional, Constituency Women’s Organizers and all women groups within the party.

The theme of the Conference and the Women’s Rally, according to a reliable source, is “Mobilizing Women for victory 2020 and Beyond” and will bring together all the women leadership within the party to chart a new path towards the development and victory of the NPP.

Though the precise date for this all important event is yet to be confirmed, sources say it is likely to take place in November in the Ashanti Regional capital,  Kumasi.

This will be the first of its kind and the  National Women’s Organizer of the party, MADAM KATE GYAMFUA together with the team of National Women’s wing, is said to be working assiduously to ensure the reality of this event.

Our source mentioned that, a 13-member Committee, made up of female bigwigs within the party and Government,  is expected to be set up by the National Women’s Organizer.

They may include Mrs. Ursula Owusu-Ekuful as chairperson and Mrs. Diana Bawuah, Mrs. Naana Pele Madam Adwoa Dokuaa Madam Rita Asobayire, Mrs. Owusu Akoto Afriyie, Madam Esther Ofori  and Mrs. Mawusi Nudekor Awity as Members.

Other members may include Madam Janet Anann, Hon Cecilia Abena Dapaah, Hon. Irene Naa Torshie Addo Hon. Gifty Ohene-Konadu and Madam Philomena Sam



The committee is to discuss, fine-tune and make appropriate recommendations to the office of the National Women’s Organizer amongst others,  programmes such as Walk/Float within the principal street of Kumasi, First Ever Women’s Mega Rally in Africa at Asawase and A Fund Raising Dinner.

The key objective of this 3 day-conference is to mobilize all NPP women as the party prepares to retain power in 2020 and beyond.

It has been hinted that, not only the regional or constituencies women’s organizers and women groups would be attending this conference, but, also all women appointees in government, Appointees’ Wives and even NPP Women groups at the Diaspora are expected to be present.

Again, though the NPP National Women’s Wing recently conducted a workshop at Kumasi for all 16 women organizers and deputies, Madam Kate Gyamfua would before the Mega Rally, undertake a regional tour to all the newly created regions. This is aimed at equally mobilizing and inaugurating women groups in these new regions towards victory 2020.
