The Graduate Students Association of Ghana has elected a new set of leaders to man the Association for the next academic year.
The election was held at the University of Energy and Natural Resources, Sunyani in the Bono Region.
The Election started around 2:00pm on Saturday afternoon eating deep into the night till the early morning of Sunday.
After the election, Mr. Samuel Sagoe, a student of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology won the presidential race beating Kwame Twumasi of the University of Professional Studies, Accra and Kusi-Danquah Godwin of the University of Education, Winneba to become the president.
Kwasi Frimpong, a Communication Studies student of the University of Ghana and the Managing Editor of the Eveningmailgh.com beat Dickson Osei, a student of the Kumasi campus of the University of Education, Winneba to become the General Secretary of the Association.
Anita Opoku-Tawiah a student of the University of Ghana also beat her two competitors from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Mrs. Princess Alomele and Akua Safo to become the Gender Commissioner of the Association.
Yussif Suleman, a student of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology also beat Enoch Mensah King, a student of the University of Cape Coast to become the Financial Controller of the Association.
Meanwhile, Harrison Ford a student of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology who contested unchallenged won for the Organising Coordinator position.
Speaking to the Eveningmailgh.com after the election, Samuel Sagoe, the president elect expressed his appreciation to the delegates for the confidence reposed in the new team. He promised to run an administration that will change the face of the Association.
