Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of SK Boafo Company Ltd, Dr Seth Kwame Boafo, has called on drivers to apply all safety measures to help reduce road accidents especially as we approach the yuletide. Dr Boafo said, the number of lives the country is losing through road accidents in recent times is alarming and needed conscious efforts to fight it.
“It is unacceptable for us to be losing many precious lives through road accidents. Safety on our roads is the responsibility of every individual including the pedestrians and drivers. Drivers also need to ensure that they don’t drink and drive, they are not on their phones when driving and must maintain good health when they are behind the driving wheels,” he said.
Award
Dr Boafo was speaking to the media on the sidelines of an award ceremony organised by the Ghana chamber of commerce to reward some individuals and companies.
Mr. Boafo’s transport company was adjuedged the national best transport company of the year.
Aside from the current award, Mr. Boafo has also received some other awards in time past. In 1995, he was adjudged the National Best Cola Farmer in the country. In 2016, he also received a business achievement award in Turkey and in 2017, was awarded as the safety champion by Newmont Ghana Gold Ltd.
His company also won the National best transport company of the year in 2017, WBAF-UAMDC Africa Excellence Award in 2018 and retained the National best transport company of the year award again in 2018.
Secret behind success
He disclosed that the secret behind the success of his company is the quality of vehicles and vehicles parts he buys and the constant training of his drivers.
