Alex Kwadwo Agyare, a member of the United States branch of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP), on Tuesday picked nomination forms to contest the party’s parliamentary primaries in the Kade constituency of the Eastern region.

Mr Agyare, who is also a patron of the party in the constituency, will be contesting Kwabena Ohemeng-Tinyase, the incumbent MP.

Mr Ohemeng-Tinyase won the Kade seat in 2016 following the decision of the four-term former MP for the area, Ofosu Asamoah, not to seek re-election.

Mr Agyare picked the forms at the party’s constituency office in the company of some of his supporters and party delegates, amidst singing, drumming and dancing.

Victory assured

The philanthropist and private businessman assured the people of victory in the 2020 general election, should he get the nod to represent them.

“It’s never too late to improve upon development of the municipality; let’s unite, bring everyone on board and together we can be crowned victorious in the 2020 general elections,” he said.

Addressing his jubilant supporters, Mr Agyare called for unity among the rank and file of the party.

He advised his campaign team, supporters and all party faithful to campaign without insults and acrimony, seeing themselves as one family.
