Second accident claims one life at Teacher Mante today

One person died this afternoon when the car he was traveling in was involved in an accident that occurred at Teacher Mante on the Accra – Suhum highway.

This is the second accident today following an earlier one that claimed at least three lives at the same spot.

 

Eye witnesses say the deceased was the driver of a short cargo truck with registration number GT 2769-A carrying a 20feeter container that was heading towards Kumasi.

 

The report says the driver had wanted to give way to a V8 car that was following his when the car veered off the road and somersaulted several times.

The driver’s mate who sustained various degrees of injuries was taken to the Nsawam government Hospital.

 

Earlier accident

 

Earlier in the morning three persons were reported dead in a fatal accident that occured at the same place.
The accident involved a kia Gran bird bus with registration number Gt 5425-20 heading from Kumasi to Aflao and a trailer vehicle with registration number AE-1913-12 coming from the opposite direction of the road.

The three person’s who died on the spot were onboard the Kia Gran Bird.

The Coaltar District Police Commander, ASP Francis Kodwo Nartey, said the accident occurred around 1:45am.
