The Ejisu constituency leadership of the governing New Patriotic Party, in collaboration with the Nkosuohene of Ejisu, Nana Kofi Adu I, has cut sod for the construction of a new office complex for the party in the area.
The office complex, which is expected to be completed in six months, is being funded by over 50 appointees of the Akufo-Addo government who hail from the area.
According to the party’s parliamentary candidate for the area, John Kumah, who is leading the effort, the construction of the ultra-modern party office for the area was one of the promises he made during the recently held NPP primaries, adding it is a promise he intends to keep.
He called on all supporters of the party in the area to join hands in building the project.
“Construction of the party office is a collective effort but not individual one. So, I will plead with everyone to contribute his or her quota towards the project,” he said.
Mr Kumah expressed appreciation to the Ejisu Nkosuohene for donating land to the party, for free, as part of his contribution towards the project.
Nkosuohene Nana Kofi Adu, speaking at the sod cutting ceremony, explained that he decided to offer the land for the party due to Mr Kumah’s personal lifestyle and how he shows respect to the elderly.
“Due to John Kuma’s good behaviour, I have given the land to the NPP for free. I will plead with people holding positions in the country to show respect to all manner of persons and know how to communicate to people devoid of insults,” he said.
The chief further pleaded with the government to collaborate with traditional authorities so they can all contribute towards the growth of the country.
95% for Akufo-Addo
Mr Kumah called on NPP supporters in the area to work hard to win at least 95 per cent of the total votes in the presidential election to be held on December 7, this year, for President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.
“Our target for the presidential election is to get 95 per cent votes. We will plead with everyone to do his or her part in making sure the said target is achieved in the polls,” he said.
To achieve this, he called on all party supporters who are yet to register in the ongoing voters’ registration exercise to do so as the exercise gets to the fifth phase.
