Tebel Ghana Limited, in collaboration with Zoomlion Company Limited, yesterday began the second national disinfection exercise in the Eastern Region. It is part of measures to contain spread of the novel coronavirus pandemic, by fumigating public places such as the markets, schools, churches hospitals, among others.

The exercise will be held simultaneously across the 33 districts of the Eastern Region, and it is being carried out under the auspices of the Ministry of Local Government and Rural Development (MLGRD) and the Eastern Regional Coordinating Council (ERCC).

The exercise, which began successfully yesterday with the fumigation of some selected public buildings in the regional capital, Koforidua, is to afford the MLGRD and the ERCC ample time for monitoring and supervision across the 33 districts.

Good management

Speaking with the media on the sidelines of the exercise, the Eastern Regional Minister, Eric Kwakye Darfour, said the government is fumigating the whole country to ensure that the citizenry are well protected from the coronavirus pandemic.
