The National Organiser of the New Patriotic Party, Sammi Awuku, is confident that the governing party will pull a massive surprise in the Volta Region in this year’s general election.

According to Mr Awuku, though the NPP has not performed well in previous elections in the region, the massive development carried out by the Akufo-Addo government will reflect in the votes of residents on December 7.

Though regarded as the ‘World Bank’ of the National Democratic Congress, the NPP organiser says the number of votes the governing party will get from the region will send shock to the spines of members of the opposition party.

“On the ballot, that day will be a ballot between prosperity and poverty. It will be a battle between the kingdom of God and the kingdom of darkness. On the ballot will be a choice between competence and incompetence. On the ballot, that day will be between hope and hopelessness,” he stated.

Campaign team

Mr Awuku expressed this hope over the weekend when he inaugurated the regional campaign team of the NPP in the region.

He added that the leadership of President Akufo-Addo and Vice-President Mahammudu Bawumia is focused on a “surgical campaign that will once again lift people from the shackles of poverty to the path of prosperity”.
