Constituency women organisers of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Bono East Region have been asked to take the lead in the ongoing retail campaign adopted by the party ahead of the December 7 general election.

National women organiser of the party, Kate Gyamfua, speaking to the women at a workshop for Constituency women organisers, TESCON Women Commissioners and members of the various ladies volunteer groups in the region noted that with less than 100 days to go into the general election, it is incumbent on the women in the party to educate their fellow women on the impact of the achievement chalked by the NPP government on Ghanaians, particularly women.

Ms Gyamfua noted that women are the ultimate beneficiaries of the ‘life-changing’ policies implemented by the Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo government urging the NPP women to drum this into the ears of the electorate.

She said, but for the implementation of the Free SHS policy, the Nation Builders Corp (NABCO), Planting for Food and Jobs, the massive recruitment into the various public sectors among others, the beneficiaries, who are mostly youth, would have been on their mothers for their day-to-day upkeep.

“Today, women are not selling their cloth to pay for their children’s school fees, because of NABCO, young graduates are not disturbing their parents for money, that money is in the pocket of the woman, because of the trainees allowances, mothers can go to sleep knowing their children will not go hungry in school. This is the government that is putting money directly in the pocket of women,” Ms Gyamfua said.

Assurance

The various women groups and the women organisers assured the party that they will do everything possible to secure a second term victory for Nana Akufo-Addo and increase the party’s number of parliamentary seats in the region.

Ms Gyamfua also assured them that though not every party member has directly benefitted in the first term of the Nana Akufo-Addo’s government, everybody will benefit in one way or the other should the party stay in office for long.
