Michael Osei Boateng (Pope), the National Coordinator of YCA

The Youth Caucus for Alan (YCA) has welcomed the pledge by Mr. Alan Kyerematen, a flagbearer hopeful, to pay salaries to those who work for the NPP and further register them onto the Social Security and National Insurance Trust (SSNIT).

The Caucus has, therefore, described the policy as a “game-changer” initiative that demonstrates Mr. Kyerematen’s commitment to the welfare of party members.

Speaking on behalf of YCA, in a media interview, Michael Osei Boateng (Pope), the National Coordinator, said this policy addresses a pressing concern within the party, as many dedicated party members, after years of service, find themselves without adequate support in their old age.

Highlighting the significance of the policy, he emphasised that several party members who tirelessly dedicate their time, energy, and resources to serving the NPP, often struggle to make ends meet after their active years.

He said he issue had become a pressing concern, particularly as the NPP had held power for a combined total of 16 years (8 years under President John Agyekum Kufuor and hopefully, another eight years under President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo).

Alan’s commitment

The YCA National Coordinator reiterated that Mr. Kyerematen’s commitment to addressing this pressing concern is part of his broader vision for the party and the country.

“His Great Transformational Plan (GTP), which focuses on youth development and empowerment, has already demonstrated his dedication to the betterment of Ghana’s youth. The welfare policy aimed at party executives and their inclusion in SSNIT further solidifies the belief that Mr. Kyerematen has the party’s and the country’s best interests at heart,” he stated.

In light of these promising initiatives, he urged all party delegates to pay attention to the life-transforming message of Alan Kyerematen and consider supporting him in his bid to lead the NPP.

“The YCA believes that his policy proposals, including the welfare promise, are steps towards securing a better future for the party and its members,” he stressed.
Pope, as the YCA National Coordinator is affectionately called, expressed enthusiasm for Mr. Kyerematen’s vision and applauded his dedication to youth empowerment and the welfare of party executives.

He further encouraged party delegates to focus on the substance of Mr. Kyerematen’s proposals and disregard any distractions.
