The District Chief Executive (DCE) for Saboba, George K Bingrini, has cut sod for the extension of electricity to Takpalb, a community within the district, in the Northern Region.
Mr Bingrini broke the ground on Wednesday April 8, 2020 to mark the commencement of the rural electrification project in the community and some other communities in the district.
He noted that the NPP government, under the leadership of President Akufo-Addo and the Member of Parliament for Saboba, Charles Bintin Binipom, is determined to bring electricity to the doorsteps of all rural areas.
He disclosed that government’s “One million dollar per constituency” flagship programme, under the Ministry of Special Initiative, is providing funds for the project.
“The one million dollar for every constituency is not passing through the district Assembly or any constituency executive. We make the needed assessment and submit to the Northern Development Authority (NDA) for consideration and ratification,” said the DCE.
“Saboba Constituency is to get 21 projects in the area of rural electrification, infrastructure, roads and boreholes for communities from the fund,” the DCE added.
