
A team of mediation expects from Gamey & Co ADR centre, who are into HR Solutions, Labour, Appropraite Dispute Resolution (ADR), Training and Consultancy led by its Cheif Executive Officer, Mr Austin A. Gamey organized a 2-Day mediation workshop for the Chiefs, Assembly Member Aspirants and the people of Gbledi, the home of Afadzato in the Hohoe District of the Volta Region.
The 2-Day event which kicked start on Friday, August 23rd with a workshop and ended on the second day, August 24th with a mediation clinic and hiking of the highest mountain in Ghana was under the theme “Enhancing Mediation Skills for Socio-Economic Development”
Togbe Gameti II who gave the opening remark welcomed the team to Gbledi Traditional Area specifically the Afadzato – Agumatsa Conservation and Ecotourism Centre at Gbledi Gborgame and highlighted the participants readiness to learn new ways of mediation.
Mr. Austin A Gamey in his delivery told participants that mediation is a call for conversation and not argument. He added that the purpose is to disconnect the past negative things and strive for positivity. Further, he challenged participants to always and effectively apply the “GHOST” law or principle as a protocol for negotiating conversations. According to him, a good mediator must be Gentle (not looks), Honest, Open, Specific and Talk.
Togbe Kutse III, the Chief of Gbledi Chebi on behalf of Togbe Homatekpor V, the Paramount Chief of Gbledi Traditional Area expressed his gratitude to the team for giving them the opportunity to enhance their existing knowledge of mediation. He asked the team to consider visiting the people of Gbledi again in the future.
