Ghana’s confirmed coronavirus positive cases have increased to seven. This is according to the government’s official coronavirus news portal www.ghanahealthservice.org/covid19.
According to the portal, the case was recorded this afternoon. It is believed that the new case is also an imported case.
A tweet from the official twitter handle of the Disease Surveillance Dept of the Ghana Health Service (GHS) said “This afternoon (17 March 2020); we have received report from NMIMR that indicated one (1) more confirmed case as positive for COVID-19 in Greater Accra Region @moigovgh”
Government is expected to give full details about the new confirmed case.
Contact tracing
Meanwhile, 350 contacts have been identified for these cases.
The government says “follow up for these contacts have commenced.
“The Minister of Health and relevant stakeholders met the Parliamentary Select Committee to deliberate on current progress and what GOG/MOH and other relevant MDAs are doing to ensure the safety of Ghanaians with the current Covid-19 Pandemic,” the government said on its official coronavirus portal.
