The Member of Parliament for Abuakwa North, Gifty Twum Ampofo, has advised some auto-mechanics in her constituency to be very cautious in their work, especially on how they handle nose masks.
According to the MP, who doubles as the Deputy Minister for Gender, Children and Social Protection, if the mechanics are not careful on how they handle these masks, they will end up infesting themselves with other toxic substances.
The MP said this during a tour in her constituency. The tour was aimed at educating the public on how to ensure that safety protocols are observed and the need to avoid stigmatizing others.

Mrs Twum Ampofo said Abuakwa North is at a high risk of contracting the coronavirus pandemic.
“The disease is escalating in the [Eastern] region. We the people of Abuakwa North are in the middle of towns and districts living with the deadly pandemic. In addition, our town also connects other towns to the capital.
“For instance, Fanteakwa North uses this route to make it to the capital. All these towns and districts I have mentioned are living with cases of Covid-19. With this, we must be very, very careful,” the MP said.
She again urged the auto-mechanics to be abreast of time to ensure that they are well equipped with the modern technologies in fixing broken cars.
She stated that there will soon be training for them on how to deal with the new cars that are being manufactured with high quality technology.
