Thomas Awemoni Vuguse (right) and wife present items to CEO of Potter's Village
Thomas Awemoni Vuguse, a banker, and philanthropist with First National Bank, along with his family, has donated assorted items to Potter’s Village, a destitute home located at Dodowa in the Greater Accra region of Ghana. The donated items include assorted drinks, toiletries, and bags of sachet water, among others.
This donation is part of the activities marking the 40th birthday of Mr. Vuguse and the seventh marriage anniversary of him and his wife, who is also a banker.
During the presentation of the items, he called on other philanthropic individuals and groups to support persons living in precarious conditions. He mentioned that the idea of assisting the home came after he and other members of a Christian organization visited the home some time ago.
Roberta Dede Assibey, the Public Relations Officer of Potter’s home, expressed appreciation to the Vuguses for their kind gesture while taking the opportunity to appeal for support from other well-meaning individuals and groups.
She mentioned that the home currently accommodates 121 children, with 16 of them pursuing various courses in the university. Additionally, 26 of the children are in various Senior High Schools across the country, 27 attend basic schools in the area, and the remaining kids are in an early childhood educational institution run by the home.
She also pointed out that the home has successfully supported a child who recently graduated from the University of Cape Coast as a Physician Assistant.
The group of children in the home, founded by Dr. Jane Irina Adu, includes street children, orphans, and other destitute children.
