A former Minister of Energy and a leading member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Mr. Boakye Agyarko has urged women groups within the NPP to take up the mantle of helping the party maintain power come 2020.

Mr. Agyarko said, women form a larger proportion of the voter population in the country and hence their relevance in any electioneering process cannot be overemphasized. He has therefore charged the various women groups within the party to stay united and rally solidly behind the women’s wing to lead the campaign of the NPP during the 2020 general elections.

Mr. Agyarko was speaking over the weekend at the launch of the Eastern Regional chapter of the Stauch Queens, an all ladies group within the ruling party, at Koforidua.

COMPLACENCY
Mr. Boakye urged members of the party not to be complacent with the successes chalked by the Akufo-Addo administration and think that victory will be given to the party on a silver platter. He stated that the 2020 general election just like any other election in this country will be won on its own dynamics and hence members of the party must be ready to offer themselves to work extra hard for the victory. He called for vigilance on the part of the members of the party before during and after the 2020 general election.

On his part, Municipal Chief Executive of the New Juabeng Municipal Assembly, Isaac Appaw-Gyasi, stated that the Akufo Addo’s Government is committed and determined to fulfill all promises made ahead of the 2016 general election. He said the government is committed to formalise the Ghanaian economy and improve lives through the implementation of the poignant and impactful flagship programs such as the free SHS, NABCO, 1D1F, among others.
