An ultramodern KG block has been handed over to the staff and pupils of the Salvation Army Basic School at Akyem Aboabo in the Birim Central Municipality.
The commissioning and handing over of the new block were done on Friday, 17th May, 2019 by the Member of Parliament for the Akyem Oda Constituency, William Agyapong Quaittoo and the resigned Municipal Chief Executive of the area, Kwabena Bempong.

The Salvation Army School, located at Akyem Aboabo, is one of the oldest mission schools in Ghana which was established in the 1980’s as a Centre for academic excellence.
However, inadequate expansion works since its establishment has led to overcrowding of pupils in the few available classrooms.

According to the Headmaster of the school, Emmanuel Owusu Acheampong, the new Block has therefore come at an opportune time when the school is grappling with problems of inadequate classrooms.

Receiving the keys on behalf of the school, Mr. Acheampong expressed his gratitude to both the MP and the president NANA ADDO DANKWA AKUFFO ADDO for the gesture.
He promised to put the block to good use in order to ensure quality Education for the good people of Akyem Aboabo.

Mrs. Jocelyn Asante Boamah, Municipal Director of Education at the Birim Central Municipal Education Directorate on her part charged teachers to put in their very best in their line of work. She stated that delivery of quality education is non-negotiable and staff of the school must put in their best to live up this mantra.

She said that inadequate infrastructure in some schools in the municipality has hampered expected education results over the years. Adding that the new block has therefore come to augment infrastructure challenge in the Municipality that disturbs delivery of quality education in the area.

The MP for the area, Mr. Agyapong Quaittoo assured the people of his continuous determination to send development to the doorsteps of the people living in the area.
He pleaded with them to continue to trust in the Akufo-addo government and in him since several other good things are in the pipeline for the people.
