A Non-Governmental Organisation, Connecting the Dot Foundation Africa (CONDAFRIC), has organised an end of year party for children living in Akyem Tafo in the Eastern Region.

The children, numbering about 900, enjoyed foods and drinks amidst music and dancing. There was also competition such as musical chairs and sack racing where winners took home various prizes.

The event, which was held during the festive season at the Zion Park in Tafo, was to encourage the children to uphold the Christian faith as well as to show love and care to one another.

Aim

Speaking with the Daily Statesman on the sidelines of the event, the Chief Executive Officer of the CONDAFRIC, Nana Adwoa Adusei-Peasah, said Christmas is all about sharing, care, love and support to the less privileged.

She explained that the aim of the Foundation is to ensure that children in less privileged positions are given the basic needs of life.

“I always tell everyone I meet that there are no limitations to what they can do. No matter who they are or where they come from, so far as they are focused and determined, they will reach their goals. Our Foundation seeks to improve literacy rate, youth development and health care in the Abuakwa North Municipality,” she noted.

The Executive Director of the Foundation, William Ekow Arhin, added that the coronavirus pandemic affected their activities, but was hopeful that the Foundation would launch more educational programmes for the youth.
