Some newly posted teachers who were recruited by the Ghana Education Service to take charge of the government’s double track program are up in arms over non payment of their salaries since they started working some seven months ago.

It would be recalled that the Ghana education service recruited some teachers in October last year to augment the government’s double track program. These teachers were to teach in the Newly absorbed schools by the Ghana Education Service and some existing schools with teacher deficit.

Upon assumption of duty , barely seven months now, the salaries of these teachers have not been paid.

Some of the teachers who spoke with The Evening Mail said the most worrying thing is that, some of them were posted to rural areas and far places where they do not know anybody there making their lives a living hell for them.

They complained about accommodation and transportation cost which they say are making life difficult for them.

According to the teachers, aside from the fact they are not being paid,  they are also  not getting any information from both the ministry of education and the Ghana education service.

They are therefore calling on the government to consider their plight and pay them as soon as possible or face their wrath.
