Billionaire Elon Musk has fired Parag Agrawal, Chief Executive of social networking site, Twitter, and Ned Segal, Chief Financial Officer, from the company. He has also fired legal affairs and policy chief, Vijaya Gadde, reports have said.

This comes on the day he concluded deal to purchase the company. Mr Musk concluded a $44 billion acquisition deal with twitter on Thursday, becoming the largest shareholder of the company.

The bird is freed

Mr Musk tweeted, after the acquisition, that ‘the Bird is freed’ suggesting his readiness to bring about several reforms to the company.

Reuters reported that the tweet is in an apparent nod to Mr Musk’s desire to see the company have fewer limits on content that can be posted.

The new twitter owner describes himself as ‘free speech absolutist’ and wants to prevent the platform from becoming an echo chamber for hate and division.

According to Reuters, he also wants to defeat spam bots on Twitter and make the algorithms that determine how content is presented to its users publicly available.
