Five persons have been arrested by Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly’s taskforce at Kumasi Central Market for allegedly printing fake identity cards.
The KMA taskforce, on their daily petrol with the leadership of the Central Market Traders Association, arrested the five traders suspected to be selling fake KMA ID card to their colleague traders.
Currently, traders are to use three identity cards issued them by the KMA to help improve social distancing in the market places, after the assembly’s engagement with the leadership of the various groups. The cards are in yellow, red and green colours.
The Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA) is currently running a shift system in all markets within the metropolis, after the closure of Kumasi Central Market on Tuesday, April 7.
The closure was to enable traders reorganise themselves in order to observe the World Health Organisation’s social distancing protocol, recommended as one of the key ways of preventing the spread of COVID-19.
