The Asene-Manso-Akroso District Assembly, in partnership with Action Against Rural Poverty/Africa Heartwood Project, has commissioned four new borehole projects for some communities in the area. The communities are Dwendaama, Botwe, Adjeikuraa and Oframoase.
The four new projects follow two projects that were commissioned in March at Teacher Atta and Atiankama Camp, bringing the number to six.
Handing over the new projects to the communities at separate ceremonies, Mr Alex Incoom, the District Chief Executive, assured the people of the government’s commitment to ensuring that every community gets good drinking water.
He urged them to continue to support the MP and the government for more of such projects to be made available to them.
Covid-19 fight
The DCE also presented Veronica buckets and bowls, soap and tissue to the four communities as part of measures to contain the spread of the novel coronavirus pandemic.
He called on them to protect themselves from the disease, by strictly following all the laid down precautionary measures such as the use of face masks, maintaining social distance, avoiding large gatherings, washing hands regularly under running water and using alcohol based hand sanitizer often, where appropriate.
