Director of Operations for pro-government pressure group, Alliance for Accountable Governance Mr. Davies Opoku Ansah, has confirmed rumours that he will be contesting the Mpraeso parliamentary primaries when the New Patriotic Party opens nomination later this year.
According to OPK as the AFAG Director of Operations is affectionately called, though he has not done any official declaration because he is waiting for the party’s directive, he can confirm to the EveningMailGh.com that he is currently lacing his boots and will make himself available for the seat.
Mr. Opoku Ansah who was speaking on the ‘SayItRight in 27’ show with Kwasi Frimpong said, he believes he has a lot in his sleeves to offer the people of Mpraeso hence the decision to contest the primaries.
He stated that it is time to raise the bar of politics at Mpraeso adding that Mpraeso is a constituency that deserves better. He said, Kwahu is endowed with several tourism potentials that can be leveraged without relying only on the Kwahu Easter.
Mr. Opoku Ansah stated that when he gets the nod, he will call on the giants in the industrial sector who hail from Kwahu to help build a society where a value chained platform will be built to help the people of the area add value to their agricultural products and also develop the various tourism potentials of the area.
“We are looking at tourism, we are looking at Agriculture, we are looking at building an industrious community.” He said.

Mr. Opoku Ansah hails from Kwahu Obomeng and kwahu Asakraka all in the Kwahu enclave. He studied Pure Science at Nkwatia Secondary School and also studied Laboratory Science Technology at the University of Cape Coast, Ghana. From UCC, Mr. Opoku Ansah furthered his education to the University of London where he studied Law and also studied Strategic Poltical Comunication at FNF-International Academy for Leadership (IAF). He has also Studied Media and Public Relations at University of Leceister and is currently running his own PR firm, Siri Communication.
In terms of Politics, Mr. Ansah was a TESCON president at the UCC and is currently the Director of Operations for Alliance for Accountable Governance. He has been involved in several pro-NPP groups including the ever vibrant ‘Let My Vote Count Alliance’. As TESCON President, he is credited as one of the few TESCON President who mobilised the highest number of students to serve as agents for the NPP in the 2008 elections.
