The 2016 Parliamentary candidate for the Asuoagyaman Constituency in the Eastern Region, Nana Adu Darkwa, who is also hoping to lead the Party again for 2020 General polls says there is an unfinished business he has intended to finish with the New Patriotic Party, hence the decision to contest again.

Speaking to the media after passing through the vetting process, he said the Asuogyaman constituency deserves a Member of Parliament (MP) who can fight for them and an MP from the ruling party.

“I’m the best candidate for the constituency. I have proved my mettle. I have also run an energetic campaign against Ampem Nyarko, the current MP who clearly was a wrong choice for the people because he is not performing and we are going to come back and win this election.” He said.

Mr Dankwah continued that, he is running again because he believes he is the right man who can actually bring development to the constituency.

He indicated that, regardless of the swing nature of the seat as its being shared among the NDC and NPP,  he thinks it is time for the NPP to win this time around going into the 2020 polls and called on the people to make the right choice which is the NPP.

When asked if he is scared about a report that has emerged that delegates have thrown support for Paul Ansah, his contender, he said, “It doesn’t scare me, its propaganda. This the third or fourth time he is running and all four times, he lost. He lost against me in the last election”.

He added that “he is not a good candidate and he has to come out and explain to delegates some of the actions he took while he was appointed by the President. So I think he is a flawed candidate and we have to make sure that the right choice is given to the people of Asuogyaman.”

He has however asked for unity among members of the party in the Constituency as he believes without a united front they cannot have other independent voters coming from other parties to join the NPP.

He affirmed that they will work hard to accrue at least half of the electorates’ votes in the forthcoming elections, saying he is 100% sure that they will win.
