Anthony Dua attacked by suspected NDC thugs in Adenta
Akosua Asaa Manu, the New Patriotic Party’s parliamentary candidate for the Adentan constituency, has called on Ghanaians, particularly Christians, to protect the peace the country is currently enjoying before, during, and after the December 7 general elections.
According to Kozie, as Ms. Manu is affectionately called, “Ghana is the only place we have, and should, therefore, not do anything that will breach the peace of the country.”
This was contained in a speech delivered on her behalf by Ing. Stephen Tetteh, NPP Coordinator for the Amrahia-Malejor Electoral Area, during the five-year anniversary celebration of the Kingdom Life Centre (KLC) Assemblies of God at Amrahia.
She noted that Ghana was surrounded by countries battling insurgencies, stating that if Ghanaians did not protect the current peace, there would be no safe place to run to should chaos broke out because of the elections.
Ms. Manu indicated that politics is a contest of ideas, and an election is a means of selecting leaders through ballots – not bullets or brawls – cautioning people who are planning mayhem to desist from such plans.
Anniversary
The Kingdom Life Centre (KLC) Assemblies of God marked its fifth anniversary in grand style at Amrahia, near Dodowa in the Greater Accra Region on Saturday, November 30, 2024.
The event was themed “Celebrating God’s Goodness To Send The Light.”
It was a significant milestone for the church, reflecting on five years of spiritual growth, community impact, and unwavering faith in God’s guidance and provision.
As part of the celebration, Ms. Manu donated a sum of cash to the church to help them secure land to build a permanent place of worship.
Attack
In a related development, Ms. Manu has condemned an attack on one of her drivers yesterday by thugs, suspected to be members of a vigilante group associated with Mohammed Adamu Ramadan, NDC MP for Adentan.
The driver, Anthony Dua, popularly known as LEGACY, was attacked near Adenta KFC by the NDC thugs around 1 a.m. on Monday after he had dropped off NPP campaigners who had just finished a door-to-door voter campaign.
Mr. Dua was buying food at a popular food joint in the area when, without provocation, the thugs pounced on him, leaving him with wounds on his head and other parts of his body.
The group also attacked the NPP car he was driving, and attempted to disable it, but upon seeing people rushing to the scene, fled, leaving the wounded driver in the car.
According to Ms. Manu, such unprovoked attacks by thugs of the NDC have the potential to breach the peace in the area, calling on the Ghana Police Service to bring the perpetrators of such attacks to justice.
