A project initiated by former Member of Parliament for Nkawkaw and Eastern Regional Minister, Eric Kwakye Darfour, is at its final stage of completion. A visit to Aprahwemu, the community where the project is located, showed that the project was about 70 per cent complete.

It is a fully furnished computer lab for the community. The project also comes with a 12-unit accommodation for teachers in the area.

According to Mr Darfour, he is collaborating with a Non-Governmental Organisation, JAM Foundation, to provide the facility.

Speaking to this paper, he disclosed that already 15 sets of computers had been purchased while furniture for the lab had also been bought.

“Last two weeks, I got the school connected to the National Grid. We shall soon commission the lab for use by the pupils,” he told the Daily Statesman.

Appreciation

A teacher in the school expressed appreciation to the former MP for the gesture. He noted that the facility, when completed, would go a long way to enhance ICT education in the school. He disclosed that the accommodation provided as part of the facility will also help teachers posted to the area to ease the accommodation problem on them.

Meanwhile, the former MP has assured the people that he would not relent in helping communities within the area to get the needed development. He indicated that there are several means by which he can serve the people, and will continue to do everything within his powers to ensure that communities within the area are not left out in the development of the country, especially in an era of digitisation and digitalisation.

He expressed appreciation to the constituents for the support and the opportunity they gave him to serve them in Parliament for two consecutive terms. He indicated that as means of showing his appreciation to the people for the support, he would continue to find every available means to ensure that the people are not cut-out of the national development drive currently happening under the Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo administration.

He also called on the people to continue to believe in the government and continue to support the NPP administration since the New Patriotic Party is the only party with the development needs of the country at heart.
