The Second-In-Command at Winneba Local Prison in the Central Region Chief Supt. of Prisons Martin Anku Blame has appealed for more medicines and Medical equipment like Diagnostic equipment, Prosthesis, wheel chairs, Cannula, Hospital beds and life support equipment like ventilator to enable Winneba Local Prison Clinic carries out its operations effectively.

He noted that the health facility situated in the Winneba Local Prison receive emergency cases regularly, some of which requires urgent medical attention but due to the absence of medicines and equipment they find it difficult to attend to the patients.

Chief Supt. of Prisons Martin Anku Blame disclosed this when the former Assembly man for Apampramu No 2 Electoral area in the West Akim Municipality Joseph Kwaku Ayeh donated ultra-modern thermometers, BP apparatus and other medicines to the clinic to help improve quality health care delivery in the area.

Speaking to Eveningmailgh.com, the Second-In-Command at Winneba Local Prison said due to human resource boosts, authorities are renovating an old cell to be used as clinic which can accommodate more inmates.

On his part the former Assembly man for Apampramu No 2 Electoral area in the West Akim Municipality Joseph Kwaku Ayeh appealed to Non-Governmental Organisation and individual to assist Winneba Local Prison Clinic with more medicines.
