A Private Legal Practitioner, David Adu Tutu, has picked forms to challenge the incumbent Member of Parliament (MP) for Nsawam-Adoagyiri, Frank Annoh-Dompreh, in the upcoming parliamentary primaries of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) slated for 25th April.
The form was picked on behalf of Mr Tutu today, Wednesday 29th January, 2020, by a polling Station Secretary of the party in the Constituency, Opare Paul, popularly referred to as JB Nsawam, a former chairman of the party’s Council of Elders and a former Constituency Secretary of the party.
Background
Lawyer JD as Mr. Tutu is affectionately called, started his education at Perseverance International School from where he proceeded to the Achimota school.
He then enrolled at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) where he read his LLB and later proceeded to the Ghana School of law.
The young lawyer has been practicing law for the past eight years.
Parliamentary Primaries
The NPP has slated April 25, 2020 to elect the remainder of its Parliamentary candidates.
It will also be holding its Presidential Primaries on the same day. The party has already held primaries for constituencies that do not have sitting Members of Parliament.
The filing fees is pegged at GHS20,000 and an additional GHS2,000 for picking of forms.
Meanwhile, all aspiring parliamentary candidates other than the sitting MPs will pay a Party Development Fee of GH¢30,000.”
