The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) of Abuakwa North, Owusu Twum-Ampofo, has asked Ghanaians to consider the records of the two leading political parties and decide on whom to vote for in the 2020 general election.
He wants Ghanaians to weigh the flagship policies of both the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) and the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) to inform their choice on which party to go for.
According to the MCE, flagship policies initiated by the NPP government, such as the Free Senior High School, Planting/Rearing For Food And Jobs (PRFJ), Planting For Export And Rural Development (PERD), among others, outweigh any flagship policy initiated by the previous Mahama-led administration. He added that this should tell Ghanaians that the NPP is poised to do more for their benefit.
Voters’ registration
The MCE, who was addressing the media after visiting some registration centres in the municipality on Tuesday, called on all eligible voters to go to their respective polling stations to register in the ongoing voters’ registration exercise in order to be able to vote for President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and the NPP government to continue with the good work they are doing.
Mr Twum-Ampofo advised all potential voters to abide by the Covid-19 safety protocols when going out to register to help curb the spread of the deadly pandemic.
He commended the Electoral Commission, the security forces, political parties and the general public for the peaceful registration process in the Abuakwa North municipality, and prayed for a violence-free general election.
