Ghana now has 52 confirmed Coronavirus cases, the Minister of Health, Mr Kwaku Agyeman Manu has revealed.

As of Monday night [March 23, 2020], a total of 27 positive cases had been recorded in Ghana with two deaths.

However, at a press briefing Tuesday morning [March 24, 2020], the Minister of Health, Mr Kwaku Agyeman Manu explained that the additional 25 cases were from those who arrived in Ghana in the last few days and were in mandatory quarantine.

This brings the total positive cases in Ghana to 52, the Minister explained.

In all, a total of 1030 travellers who arrived in Ghana in the last three days are in mandatory quarantine.

On Monday, a second person died in Ghana from Covid-19.

The Ghana Health Service is yet to give details about the deceased but said three new cases have been recorded, bringing Ghana’s total number to 27.

There’s intense pressure on government to not only close the country’s borders as announced but also introduce a lockdown.
