Francis-Xavier Kojo Sosu, the Member of Parliament for Madina, has been honored as the Outstanding Political Personality of the Year by the organizers of the National Golden Excellence Awards. This recognition follows his impressive policy interventions and legislative achievements since taking office.
In his first term, Hon. Sosu has introduced an unprecedented 17 Private Member’s Bills, with three already passed by Parliament and one receiving Presidential assent. These bills aim to address various social and economic issues, including the abolition of the death penalty, criminalization of witchcraft accusations, compensation for wrongful arrest and detention, and free cancer treatment for children, among others.
In addition to his legislative work, Hon. Sosu has initiated community interventions such as the Madina Job Center, which has provided over 6,500 jobs and skills training, and the Water for All Project, to improve the wellbeing of his constituents.
Upon receiving the award, Hon. Sosu expressed his gratitude and commitment to continuing his work towards a more just, inclusive, and secure society for all. He emphasized the importance of unity and collaboration in achieving progress and overcoming challenges.
This award adds to Hon. Sosu’s growing list of recognitions, including the Timothy Bowles’ Africa Human Rights Award, Distinguished Political Personality and Humanitarian Award, and 100 Most Influential Change Makers in Ghana. As a lawyer, politician, and dedicated representative of the people of Madina Constituency, Hon. Sosu continues to work tirelessly towards a brighter future for all.
