Starting his media work as a ‘mere’ humble reporter for Eastern FM in Koforidua, Kwaku Dawuro has risen through the ranks in a quick pace of time to become a force to reckon with when it comes to anchoring morning shows in the Eastern Region.

Known in real life as Kwabi Frank, his style of interview coupled with the flair and humour he attaches to his work has won him several loved ones pioneering his show on Koforidua based Kingdom FM as the most sought after morning show in the Eastern Regional Capital.

Hon. Dawuro’ (as his huge fan base prefer to call him) combination with Kwaku Aboagye Apenteng on the newspaper review segment of the Kingdom FM morning show has given a stiff competition to the hitherto only sought after Accra FM stations newspaper review in the Eastern Region.

The Evening Mail caught up with Hon. Dawuro to know more about this young 30years old man who has become the toast of morning show lovers in the region.

Birth and Education 

Kwabi Frank was born on 20th April, 1988 at Awukugua Akuapem in the Okere District of the Eastern region of Ghana.

He was enrolled at the Awukugua SDA Primary School and Adukrom Resettlement Presby Junior Secondary School all in the Okere District of the Eastern Region for his basic education.

He obtained his West Africa Senior Secondary School certificate at H’Mount Sinai Senior High School at Akropong Akuapem and obtained a certificate in Broadcast Journalism at Eastern Media Ghana in Koforidua

Dawuro is now a Procurement and Supply Science Student at Koforidua Technical University.

Work as a Media Man

Kwaku Dawuro started his media profession as a news reporter for Koforidua based Eastern FM in 2010. He later joined Adukrom based Radio Mountains as a news anchor and sit-in morning show host in 2011, where he became the head of news in 2012.

For his hardwork, he quickly moved  to Koforidua to work as a news anchor and sit-in morning show host for Emak FM where he worked for four years.

He was then promoted to become the head of news and the host of Adekyeemu Nsem, a political show on the station.

Having built a strong brand and huge listenership base, Kwaku Dawuro was poached by Unique Kingdom Communications in August 2016 to handle the Morning Show of its Koforidua Kingdom 101.9 FM, which is now the most listened to morning show in the region.

With hard work and dedication he gained several nominations, including, Radio Personality of the year Eastern Region by the Radio and Television Personality Awards (RTP Awards), Eastern Media Excellence Awards and Foklex Media Awards and he was adjudged the Best Morning Show Host of the Year 2018 at Kumasi Golden Tulip Hotel by Kumasi based Foklex Media Production.

 

Political life 

Kwaku Dawuro is not just a media man. He is an affable, resilient and hardworking young politician.

He is the incumbent Assemblyman for the people of Awukugua (the birthplace of Okomfo Anokye) in the Okere District of the Eastern region. Before his election in 2015 as Assemblyman, he was the elected Unit Committee Secretary for the area.

Other Jobs

Dawuro is the spokesperson for the family of Okomfo Anokye. His vast knowledge and understanding of the culture and tradition and fluency in the Akuapem twi offered him the opportunity to MC series of programs across the country including Manhyia palace, Otumfou’s historic visit to Awukugua the birthplace of the great Okomfo Anokye for the first time in 2015 after 400 years.

He is a vowed  Christian and staunch member of Presbyterian church of Ghana.

Marrital Life

Hon. Kwaku Dawuro is married to an adorable wife with two sweet kids.
