Mimi Duah addresses the Press

The National Women’s Wing of the New Patriotic Party has commended Darkoa Newman, Member of Parliament for Okaikwei South, for her commitment to the development of entrepreneurs and the promotion of businesses in her area. This comes in the wake of the launch of a business support scheme aimed at empowering entrepreneurs, especially women, and supporting traders in the area. The scheme provides financial grants to traders to enhance their businesses and to other entrepreneurs to initiate trade.

Approximately 1000 beneficiaries from the Circle Market, Komkompe Market at Darkuman, and Kaneshie Market have benefited from this initiative. This marks the second time the MP has assisted traders in her area with cash grants to boost their businesses.

Praise

Addressing the beneficiaries, Mimi Duah, Deputy National Women Organizer of the NPP, praised Ms. Newman for her initiative. She highlighted that the support would significantly contribute to the local economy and help alleviate the growing unemployment issue in the country. Ms. Duah urged other MPs to follow Ms. Newman’s example, emphasizing that if all MPs replicate similar initiatives in their respective areas, it would enhance the country’s economy and improve entrepreneurial skills among Ghanaians.

She took the opportunity to call on the beneficiaries and all Ghanaians to support all NPP MPs and Parliamentary Candidates in the December 7 general elections. Additionally, she encouraged Ghanaians to keep faith in the NPP government and vote massively for its flagbearer, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia in the upcoming general elections. She stated that the Vice-President has the vision to continue the good work of the government and to implement new policies that would transform the economy.

Ms. Duah emphasized that the various programmes initiated by the government are a testament to the NPP’s commitment to development and growth. She added that the improvement in the post-covid economy signifies that the economy has turned a corner, urging Ghanaians to continue having trust in the government.
