Ms Duah presents certificate to a trainee

A Deputy National Women Organiser of the New Patriotic Party, Miriam Awurama Duah, has emphasised that Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) remains the game changer to leapfrog Ghana into a prosperous future. She praised the Akufo-Addo government for prioritizing the sector, and implementing Free TVET, a policy she believes is pivotal for the country’s economic transformation.

Speaking during the 4th Graduation Ceremony of Levelx Training Academy at GNAT Hall over the weekend, Ms. Duah shared her optimism about the future of TVET in Ghana. She assured Ghanaians that the next NPP government under Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia would elevate this policy even further. Highlighting the plans for the future, she said there would be an enhanced focus on TVET education, with the introduction of vocational and skills training on sustainable mining specifically designed for small-scale miners, to be included in the curriculum of TVET institutions.

Commendation

Ms. Duah commended the graduates for their successful training, acknowledging the hard work and dedication required to complete their programs.

“Being a trainee comes with a lot of challenges that require resilience and perseverance. Yet, when triumph comes, you will certainly achieve self-fulfillment,” she told the trainees.

She further emphasised the importance of TVET in creating job opportunities and reducing unemployment rates among the youth. According to her, TVET equips young people with practical skills that are essential for the job market, thereby fostering entrepreneurship and self-employment.

“The enthusiasm and sense of accomplishment displayed by the graduates, coupled with the joy and happiness from the facial expressions and gestures of their families and loved ones present, resonated the need for every individual to identify their interests and pursue them with passion,” she added.

Ms. Duah also took the opportunity to commend Saralyn Gyampo, Chief Executive Officer of the Academy, and the entire management team for their dedication to training the students and providing them with the necessary skills and knowledge to succeed. She noted that the efforts of institutions like Levelx Training Academy are crucial in realizing the full potential of TVET in Ghana.
