Newmont Goldcorp Ghana, Akyem Mine, has made a cheque presentation of GHC 10,000.00 to the Eastern Regional Chapter of the Ghana Journalists Association (GJA).
The amount donated is to support the Association towards the second edition of its Regional Awards meant to reward hard-working and deserving journalists working in the Eastern Region.
The Eastern Regional Secretary of the GJA, McAnthony Dagyenga received the cheque on behalf of the Association at the company’s premises at New Abirem in the Birim North District of Eastern Region.
“Newmont Goldcorp, by this donation, has proven to be a regular and committed organisation towards media development in the Eastern Region as it contributed same amount to the ER GJA for its 2018 Awards” Mr. Dagyenga said after receiving the cheque.
GJA Awards
The second edition of the ER GJA Awards will come off on Friday August 9, 2019 in Koforidua and it is expected to be graced by high profile personalities including the Okyenhene, Osagyefuo Amoatia Ofori Panin, The Eastern Regional Minister, Eric Kwakye Daffour and the Director-General of the Ghana Health Service, Dr. Nsia Asare.
It will be on the theme, “Securing a malaria free Ghana: the role of the media.”
