Dr Nyaho Tamakloe has argued that the current crop of players in the Black Stars team is undeserving of the country’s time and money allocated to them.

His comments come after Sports Minister, Isaac Asiamah, presented a budget before the house of parliament on the amount of money expended in the just-ended tournament.

Mr Asiamah indicated that a little over $4.5 million was spent on the 2019 AFCON tournament in Egypt.

Speaking exclusively to the Ghana Report, Dr Nyaho-Tamakloe explained the current crop of players are not committed and dedicated to winning any game in any tournament.

Nyaho-Tamakloe recounted days when it was a total joy to go to the stadium to watch a match of the Black Stars team with players such as Dogo Moro, Emmanuel Oblitey, Adu Darko, Ofei Duodo, Baba Yara among others.

“These are people you would love to watch, solid defenders by all standards, I am not surprised nobody goes to the stadium any longer to watch a match,” he said.

Nyaho-Tamakloe is calling for the need for a complete overhaul of the Black Stars team. He says there’s the need to reorganize the team by bringing in the most committed players who will go the extra mile for the country.

“We should build a new team of Black Star boys just like we did in Hearts of Oak and certainly the new team can carry the nation forward,” he said.
