The Queen mother of Akyem Akenkausu in the Eastern Region, Nanahemaa Akua Krofah II has advised parents to prioritize their wards education.

According to Nanahemaa Krofah, parents should acknowledge that education is the main route to sustainable living in this current dispensation. She added that the only thing that parent can give to their wards and can not be taken by any other person is by developing their minds through education.

Nanahemaa Akua Krofah was speaking to the http://eveningmailgh.com during her investiture as the new queen mother of the community.

The people of Akenkausu last Sunday, 12th May enstooled her as the new Queen mother for the community. Nanahemaa is a private business woman who prides her trade at the national capital Accra.

Addressing the chiefs and people of the town after her enstoolment, the new Queen mother advised children to be obedient to their parents.

Appeal

She further appealed to the government to help rehabilitate an old abandoned market in the community to make it functional. She noted that the market when rehabilitated will draw traders from nearby towns and villages to the market. This she said can be a huge source of revenue mobilisation for the Achiase District.

 

Culture and Religion

The chairman for the West Akyem Presbytery of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana; Rev. Dr. Bensis Isaac Adu who was at the program in an interview with the http://eveningmailgh.com also advised Christians to do away with negative mindset against culture. He stated that culture and tradition are not evil and that even Jesus Christ respects the two.


He admonished Christians who do not partake in culture and traditional activities in their communities because they regard such things as ungodly to desist from such behaviour.
