President Akufo-Addo has officially announced the death of former President Rawlings in a statement signed in his own hand.
The President has declared seven days of national mourning from Friday, November 13 to Friday, November 20, 2020. In addition, the president has directed that ‘all national flags should fly at half-mast for the next seven days in all parts of the country’.
To honour the memory of the late ex-president, both the President and his Vice have suspended their political campaigns at least for the next seven days.
President Akufo-Addo also extended his sympathies to the bereaved family and stated the government’s commitment to giving a befitting state burial to the late president.
