The Pentecost Senior High School in Koforidua of the Eastern Region (PENSEC) is set to admit more students in the next academic year.
According to the headmaster of the school, Mr Peter Atta Gyamfi, the school has put measures in place to increase intake without discomfort to the students.
There have been growing concerns over whether the various Senior High Schools would be able to absorb a lot of the J.H.S graduates under the free S.H.S program next academic year.
Responding to this in an exclusive interview with http://eveningmailgh.com, Mr. Gyamfi said PENSEC will have no problem admitting more students.
He said the leaders of the Church of Pentecost are currently constructing a dormitory which will be in a position to admit about 800 more students. He added that the government is also putting up a 12 unit classroom in order to avoid overcrowding of students.
“Currently the school has put some measures in place which has made students to report on time when school re opens.” Mr Gyamfi revealed.
He said the school always organizes exams at every first week of reopening and the marks forms part of the continues assessment of students adding that students who report to school late are also punished.
Upgrade
Mr Gyamfi stated that, through the hard work of the teachers and non teaching staff, the school has now being upgraded to a category B school adding that these have been achieved because of the discipline installed in the school.
