The Amasaman Constituency Executives of the ruling New Patriotic Party have debunked reports trending in some media outlets that they have described President Nana Addo Dankwah Akufo – Addo as a failure of this fourth Republic.

According to a statement issued and signed by the Constituency Executive Committee, the publications out in the public captioned ‘’ Akufo Addo has failed’’ is false and a purely  calculated attempt staged by some saboteurs to create confusion between the constituency executives and the grassroots.

Publication

The statement said it is interesting to note, that within a space of about five days, there have been two(2) publications from different media houses that seek to attack or drag the name of the constituency and especially it’s Executives into disrepute adding that no executive in the party has made any public statement against the President.

It explained that on Saturday, 3rd of August 2019, there was a publication about a demolition exercise in the Ga-west Municipality which stated that, “Amasaman Market Demolition: NPP Executives start the campaign against Akufo-Addo’’. Yet the body of the story had no links or connections to any of the Constituency Executives.

Also on the 4th August, there was a publication by The Witness Newspaper (pro-NDC paper), that the attack on CEC was seen at the cover page with a picture of one of the aspiring parliamentary candidates, who happens to be the constituency 1st vice-chairman, with the caption, Akufo Addo has failed-Amasaman NPP declares.

Apology and retraction

The Constituency Executive Committee who are not happy with the publication are therefore calling on the said media houses to retract and apologize for misleading Ghanaians and for bringing the name of the New Patriotic Party and Amasaman CEC in disrepute, within the next five days or face their wrath

The statement, further, urged the general public, especially NPP members in Amasaman and the entire party, to treat this ill-intent publication, with the greatest of contempt it deserves’’.
