Rhodalyn Eshun, Western Regional Captain of Loyal Ladies
Members of the Western Regional chapter of the New Patriotic Party’s Loyal Ladies have cautioned Joycelyn Andoh, a former member of the party, now contesting the Tarkwa-Nsuaem parliamentary seat as an independent candidate, against involving them in her campaign.
The group insist they have no association with Miss Andoh, and that their political relationship with her ceased the very day she opted to go independent.
The group, in a press release signed by Rhodalyn Eshun, the Regional Captain, warned that Miss Andoh would incur their wrath should she continued drawing their name into her campaign.
The caution follows the circulation of videos and pictures on social media purporting to be a campaign walk embarked upon by the ladies on Sunday, October 11, in support of Miss Andoh’s campaign.
No support
The independent candidate, who some time ago claimed she was being backed by President Akufo-Addo, and even used the governing party’s colours and symbols in her campaign, is said to be going round telling the electorate that she has the full support of the Loyal Ladies as, a young and dynamic woman aspiring to be the next Member of Parliament for Tarkwa-Nsuaem constituency.
The Loyal Ladies have however dismissed her claim as a blatant lie and propaganda, stressing that they support no other parliamentary candidate in the constituency beside George Mireku-Duker, the incumbent NPP Member of Parliament and the party’s candidate for the December 7 general elections.

The group cautioned persons circulating the so-called videos and pictures to stop attaching their name to them, and also described Miss Andoh’s action as a malicious one intended to mar their reputation.
“We write to officially decouple and disassociate ourselves from such malicious lies and propaganda to mar the name of NPP Loyal Ladies in western region and Tarkwa-Nsuaem.
“Our unflinching support for Mireku-Duker and the elephant family is non-negotiable and still paramount”, the statement read.
The ladies reiterated their commitment to ensuring that NPP’s agenda 60,000 votes for George Mireku-Duker and President Akufo-Addo becomes a reality on December 7, to enable them do more for the constituents, adding that nothing would stop them from achieving this target.
They reminded Miss Andoh and all party members who have decided to go independent that chapters of Loyal Ladies were formed to promote the party’s agenda and not theirs, and urged the candidates to stop using “Loyal Ladies” in their campaigns.
They also pledged to work very hard for the party, respect its structures and decisions and support officially elected candidates to retain their seats.
