Gabriel Odeh Apotey, the New Patriotic Party Chairman for Yilo Krobo Constituency in the Eastern Region has stated that the party will win the Parliamentary seat in the next year general elections.

According to him, the NPP has been losing all previous elections in the Constituency to the opposition National Democratic Congress due to the kind of candidates that they have been presenting. He said, as such the party has learnt its lessons and will therefore put up a candidate who can easily wrestle the seat for the party.

The Constituency Chairman made these known during the filing of nomination by the Eastern Regional Deputy Director of NADMO, Mr Eric Tetteh to contest the Party’s upcoming Parliamentary Primaries.

Declaring support for Mr. Tetteh as a Parliamentary Candidate at the expense of the party’s Former Parliamentary candidate Francis Appertey who has also filed to contest, the chairman said, Eric Tetteh is an experienced and loyal politician and that, he believes in his competence hence the decision to support him.

“I believe so well that, with Eric in the scheme of affairs concerning 2020 polls, we can annex the seat from the NDC. He satisfies the town and village chemistry politics in Yilo. I believe strongly that with Eric Tetteh we can win the seat in Yilo, we want to win and win it hands down” he emphasized.

The Deputy Regional National Disaster Management Organization Director, Eric Tetteh after filling his nomination said the constituency deserves better, adding that, the constituency is well endowed with many resources and for that matter needs good direction to ensure that the people in Yilo Krobo achieve the dreams they have.

He said “Since 1992, we have been voting for the NDC but I don’t think they have anything better for the constituency. I’m therefore calling on my fellow Yilos to try somebody from the NPP” .

He said that he knows the worries of the people having been the constituency organizer for five terms.

Expressing belief in his confidence, Mr. Tetteh said nobody thought the NPP could one day win the Upper Manya Parliamentary seat but they won it adding that  “nothing is impossible.”

Touching on what he has for the Youth, he said that, he believes in empowerment and is willing to empower the youth by providing job opportunities for them when voted.

He also touched on some of the government’s programs such as the free SHS policy of which those in his area have benefited from, restoration of the teacher and nurses trainee allowances among others describing the NDC as “wicked” for scrapping off the allowances.

He urged the Krobo’s to have faith in the NPP and try the party in subsequent elections.
