The Nkosuohene of Akyem Kade in the Eastern Region, Baffour Twum Bawuaa, has urged the youth to pursue careers in technical and vocational education to better their chances of employment and drive national sustainable development.

He said, generally, there were more jobs opportunities and better remunerations in the technical and vocational fields, than the formal sector, adding that the former was the idle field to amass wealth.

Baffour Twum gave the advice when he was addressing the media at his residence in Accra.

Prioritise

He urged stakeholders to prioritise skills training education to help drive the Government’s industrialisation agenda and ensure economic transformation. He indicated that he and the chief of Kade are planning to build a modern community centre which will serve as skills training centre for the youth in the town.

He further advised the youth not to allow politicians to use them to do their ‘dirty’ works calling for peace, love and unity among the people of Kade.
He urged the youth to make good use of the knowledge acquired, exhibit a high sense of discipline, efficiency and good moral judgment to enable them to excel in their work.
